Mini Marshmallows Are So Happy

Isn't it wonderful how other people's lives entertain us?
I will be living vicariously through all of you for the next couple of weeks, so please be interesting.

I have officially started full time at work, it's just for the moment...but it means being more tired, more money, less time to go visit the boy, I'll be too tired to hang out with the family as much, less time for Christmas baking.
I'm not going to dwell on it too much though :)
But I did send a message out to the two people I hang out with the most that my social life will be lacking.
Can you tell I'm addicted to the ipod touch camera?

I intend to make a winter list this week but for now it has disappeared from my brain.
The snow has ceased for today, but I heard rumours from the weather man that it will be back by Thursday.
When it snows again I intend to sit by the fire and drink my hot cocoa with the mini marshmallows my wonderful mom remembered to buy as I forgot :)
Don't mini marshmallows put a smile on your face?

It's Thanksgiving this weekend isn't it?  Being Canadian...Eh, I already had mine (fantastic weekend by the way) but Happy Thanksgiving!!
I'm slightly jealous, I've always wanted to participate in the event that is Black Friday.

You know what's coming up fast?
April.
That is my tentative move out date.
There will be 4 room mates, including the boy.
Curiosity:
If you live with a boyfriend, how long did you wait to move in together?

On with the show!
8. Are you a fitness guru or a couch potato? Talk about your exercise habits.
I like exercise, really I do.
It's just finding the motivation to do it.
I can sit on the couch and talk about how I want to go on the elliptical which is right next to the couch, but then I don't bother.
I exercise at work...kind of.  6 hours of being on my feet, lots of walking, so there is my cardio.
Heavy lifting-arms.
When I remember, I tighten my abs while I walk.
See how that works?
I'm going to start doing abs at home again and lifting weights.  I'm forgetting the cardio for now because every time I begin doing it, the next week I'm sick.

Happy Tuesday!

6.Favourite Season

6. Tell us your favourite season and why.

I am a huge fan of dill actually, that's a season right? or a flavour?...hmm.
Dill chips, dill popcorn..that sounds good right now.

Ohh okay, I'm being a dork.
I'm a fan of all seasons actually, Spring not as much which is odd because I'm born in Spring.

I love Summer for the heat, the outdoor activities, bbqs, denim shorts, hanging out at the beach reading a book all day long, lemonade (because you know you can only drink it in the summer), blue slushies etc.

I love Fall for the sunny days with that wonderful chill in the air, windy days, the days it rains really really hard and you just watch it for hours, boots, the amazing colors it brings etc.

I love Winter for the snow (obviously.  It's supposed to snow here in a couple days by the way!), hot chocolate, cuddling is more necessary this time of year, that tingly feeling you get as Christmas nears, mittens and toques! etc

So you can see how I have trouble picking just one.

4. Friends

4. Write about your closest friend(s)
Hmm.
I have two close high school friends, I don't see them much but I do know that I can trust them with anything and it's never awkward when we haven't seen each other for a year.
I've gotten closer with a couple girl friends that I met about a year ago (wow! time flies).  I met them through the boy :)

One of my close friends is a blogger buddy.  We exchange advice back and forth, we know each others dating lives, and when we're stressed we vent to each other.  It helps to have her around, even if she is a million miles away.

Then my closest friends who I talk about anything with.  My Mom, my brother, and the boy.
I don't think I need to explain why my Mom is my best friend do I?  We do a lot together, we pretty much talk about anything and everything.
My brother helped with a lot with the boy this year.  He's dated longer than I have so he kind of knows, plus he's a boy.
The boy.  I like that I considered him my best friend before we even started dating.

I feel like I haven't posted in a long time, but really it's only been a couple days.
I've read some of your blogs and it sounds like everyone had a great weekend, as did I.
[Holy crap, I'm watching last week's episode of Glee.]
The boy visited this weekend :)
True we spent less than 24 hours together, but it was great.
By the way midnight cheeseburger runs are awesome.  Everyone should do it.

I also bought some new Christmas lights for my bedroom.  My rainbow ones died so I've delayed making a fort until I bought some new ones.
Oh and I have Harry Potter glasses now.  Someone gave them to me :)

2. Piercings & Tattoos

2. Talk about your piercings and tattoos, if you have any

I have my ears pierced, including cartilage.  I'd like to get the inside part of my ear pierced, I can't remember what it's called.  The daith perhaps?
That's all I have, but I've wanted my lip pierced forever but I won't do it.  Maybe when I hit 40 years old.
I would like to get a tattoo this year or next year sometime.  Just a small heart on my pointer finger.
You see whenever I used permanent markers, my doodling preference, I always get a spot on that finger because clearly I have trouble hitting the page.  So I always make it into a heart instead of having this random dot on my finger for a couple days.  That's my story of the tattoo I want, kind of lame but I like it.
I think this tattoo would be cool to get.
I love skulls.
I also wouldn't mind a small cupcake on my neck.

Hummingbird Heartbeat

I'm doing another 30 day challenge, out of boredom.
Sorry guys :)

1.  Your middle name and how you feel about it.
Dawn.
I feel it's boring, but it works.  My friend said, quote, "Every white girl's middle name is Dawn."
So that about sums that up.

Change of subject.
I was just looking at the blog of this guy that used to live in town, he's doing some fashion stuff now and modelling...something like that.
Anyway, he posted some random pictures.
He's on the east coast now.

How can people just decide to go somewhere.
I wish I could do that.  I'd be nervous but I'd love to do that.
Part of the problem is that I still live at home and my parents pipe in with their thoughts.
They don't even like me to travel two hours away from home.
I guess that's what happens when you grow up being close to them huh?
But sometimes it can be suffocating.

Next year, I will take a trip.  Despite what they say.
I think some friends plan to go to Mexico.  I've never had the desire to go to Mexico, ever, it just doesn't sound appealing.  But I think that I might like to.  I'd get a vacation, I'd be with friends, it'd be the furthest I've been from home without my parents.
I went to Comic Con in San Diego last year with out them and that went perfectly fine.

Agh, sometimes I just get these random ideas in my head and need to write them out.
It always helps.
These aren't journal thoughts, these are just.....blogging is like brain storming kind of....and venting.  It's relaxing.
I save the heavy or cutesy stuff for my journal.
It's personal.
Usually the things I tell you guys on here is stuff I've told my family, random people at work and their grandmothers, you know?

Confession:I hope when I'm older that my house looks like this at Christmas.

Another Confession: I can't stop listening to "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry..."Hummingbird Heartbeat" is good too :)

Don't forget to have a moment of silence tomorrow!
Oh shoot, I need a poppy.

Smell Good, Johnny Depp and an Empty Dish

24. 5 Turn Ons & 5 Turn Offs.

Turn ons- 1. Blue eyes/blonde hair
2. Smelling good
3. Being slightly aggressive
4. Being able to argue/banter with me
5. Being able to be a dork with me :)

Turn offs- 1. Acting like a douche
2. No aggression at all
3. Not getting to the point
4. Always talking about yourself
5. You know when guys get with their friends and acting completely different? I hate that, I've accepted it but sometimes they acting like the biggest douche in the world...I guess that's the same as number 1.

25. Someone you'd like to be for a day and why?
An actress...but who to pick?  Someone talented of course.
Why? because I'd like to know if it's what I actually want to do.  I want to see how hard it is, what it's like to be on set...all the things that come with acting.
I think I'd like to be Johnny Depp actually or Meryl Streep.

26. Five things within touching distance right now
Cell phone, mouse, camera, Season 2 of The Big Bang Theory, an empty dish that contained carrots and ranch dressing.

Only four more to go...

Avoiding The Ex. Fail.

19. Post a picture of yourself without your make up/hair done.
There aren't a lot of pictures of me lately, so this is what you get:

20. Your best sexual experience/your sex life or lack therof.
Wow this 30 Day Challenge keeps getting deeper and deeper into my life huh?
Let's just leave it at that and move along.

21. Press Control & V and post
Sometimes, I'll watch a film that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realise I had no idea what was going on when I first saw it.
Ha, I just read Kaleena's blog.
Check her out if you haven't already!

22. Post a bit of your last IM conversation.
Well, it was via facebook and I'm logged off now.
I was talking to a friend about our love lives.  He was kind of bummed out and I was listening..reading.

23. Five things you want to change
1. How often I see the boy.  Definitely once a month at least.
2. My room.  Even if I just add a shelf.
3. How late I stay on the computer.  I'm sucking up precious sleeping time right now.
4. Exercise habits.  Even if I just do abs because I tend to work fast at work and consider those 4-6 hours five days a week a good work out and then I'm just too tired to do the elliptical when I get home.
5. My wardrobe..more like add pieces to it.  But that comes with time and a better paycheck.

Here's a slightly amusing story for you.

 I saw "The Ex" today.
Yes, I'm talking the one guy I dated when I was 15, the one who is married, the one who I saw while I was at work and ran down the freezer aisle just to avoid awkward conversation.
Tonight, was uggggggh.
Brother- "Hey look, there's M."
I turn and look, "Agh!" and then bump into my brother trying to hide.
Brother- "what are you doing?"
Me- "I hide from people I know!"
Mom- "That was really loud."
Brother- "Yeah it was."
Walking past another aisle, my brother smirks...
Brother- "Hey look who it is..."
Me- "No," I keep walking."
So after successfully avoiding M the entire shopping trip, I stopped to talk to my Mom on the way out and I felt a pat on my shoulder and hear a "Hey".
Fail.
My face went red by the way.
I just really don't like seeing people I knew in high school, unless it's to show off to guys I used to have a crush on that I look good (at least I think so).

16-17-18

16. A drunken story.
Oh wow. He he...
Too many details make me uncomfortable but I will say this -I got drunk for the first time this summer while camping
-I will never go that far again
-I am so sick of lemonade

17. Something you regret.
I don't like to have regrets.
There is a reason for everything.  At least that's my thinking.

18. To do list.
I love lists :)
-Clean my room
-Exercise
-Shower
-Go to the library
-Make a final decision on a Halloween costume
-Go to the bookstore
-Save up for a new ipod or a piercing...probably the ipod
-Find a sparkly top for the concert.  I'm on the hunt for a black and silver sequined shirt.
This one would actually be awesome, because it's Metric and their Fantasies album has a butterfly on the cd.
I will do my best.

Have a great week :)

12, 14, 15

12. Something you're currently worried about.
Tomorrow just a tad.  I pick up the boy in the afternoon.
I have a small flutter of butterflies flitting around in my tummy :)

Skipping 13...

14. Something disgusting you do.
That's tough, because I may do it and think it's normal but other people say it's disgusting.
-I love to eat plain pasta, preferably baby shells, with ketchup.  Lots of ketchup.
-When I hang out with my brother too long I use more toilet humor than necessary causing my family to cringe but still laugh.
Yeah, I can't think of much else.
-Oh, I work with garbage courtesy of my janitor job.

15. Lyrics that apply to your current situation/mood
(I love music questions!)
Warning: I picked some pretty cheesy lyrics.

From Where You Are by Lifehouse
So far away from where you are
These miles have torn us worlds apart
And I miss you, yeah I miss you

So far away from where you are
I’m standing underneath the stars
And I wish you were here

I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things
I never thought that they’d mean everything to me
Yeah I miss you
And I wish you were here

I feel the beating of your heart
I see the shadows of your face
Just know that wherever you are
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here

I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things
I never thought that they’d mean everything to me
Yeah I miss you
And I wish you were here

So far away from where you are
These miles have torn us worlds apart
And I miss you, yeah I miss you
And I wish you were here

Stranded On An Island With Love or Hate?

11. Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with someone you love for 10 years or someone you hate for a month?  Keep in mind you gotta survive.

-How big is the island?
-Is there food on it?
Because if there is food then I'd probably say someone I love because even though I try not to hate people there are a couple who I can't stand and there is no way I'd survive living on an island with them unless it was huge and we were at opposite ends of it.
If you truly love someone then you should be able to spend 10 years on an island with them, it'd be an excellent learning experience. . .
I'm still unsure about love and I think I always will be, so it's difficult to answer.
But I still think love, even if it's not a boy, I love my family so I think I could live on an island with one of them as long as we had our time apart.

Sorry, this is more like the 15 day challenge rather than 30.

12. Something you're currently worrying about.
The boy coming home this weekend.
I have this feeling he'll want to spend most of his time with one of his buddies.  I want him to hang out with him just them but I just don't want him to spend all of his time with him.
I want to hang out with him too, and not just the car ride home.
I worry that he's going to act awkward when I pick him up.
I worry that this weekend is just going to be bad or boring.
I don't want him to say what he thinks I want to hear ("I missed you") He knows that I like honesty and so I don't want him to spout crap unless that's actually how he feels.
I don't know! They're just stupid little worries that shouldn't even exist.

$10,000

6. How you'd spend $10,000.
I would end up saving it knowing me.
Okay, first of all I would buy a pair of good quality boots, try to offer the parents at least half of it, and then save it for rent when I move out and you know, adult type stuff.
I'm way too practical it sucks.
I'm a Pisces, Pisces are supposed to be dreamers.
Ok.  Let's say I decided to actually spend the whole $10,000 because somehow I could afford it, what would I do with it?
-Buy boots
-Travel to either New York City or Italy....maybe Tokyo.
-Oh and buy a red couch for when I move out

I'm way too boring for this.  I like the idea of boots and rent best.   So something to do with moving out...
I think I'll just partially exercise and then read "Beastly" by Alex Flinn.  I'm about half way through it and it's pretty good :)  I think I'll see the movie when it comes out next year.

The Best Thing To Happen To You

4. The Best Thing to Happen to You This week

Hmm.
Well it's been a tough week.
I could make a list of things that weren't best.....
Plus this week just started...
Oh! I talked to the boy this weekend and he's coming home in a couple weeks :)
It's the only thing getting me through lately.

That was short and pathetic.
I'm doing two challenges then.

5. Weird Things You Do When You're Alone.

They're not really weird, but if people knew I did them they would think "oh that's weird, for her"
-dance in my room at night to exercise when I get lazy and don't feel like working out on the elliptical

-borrow my brother's ipod cd player and hook it up in the bathroom while I shower because a)I like to sing even though I am horrible at it and b)the dogs bark and make me think someone is breaking in.  The music over powers the barking.

-Clean...not so weird but I like doing it only when I'm alone

this is actually harder than I thought.
I've always known I'm weird, but it's hard to think of things. Besides, usually I let my weirdness show.

Oh well, have a great week :)

Day 3

Day 3- Five things that irritate you about the opposite sex/same sex.
Let's go with same sex...
So I am a woman, 5 things that irritate me about women.

1. The way we over think and over analyze everything.  Before the boy and I started dating I was constantly over thinking.  It drove me insane.  There was one night in particular that I remember sitting on my bed for hours thinking about calling him.  Finally I sucked it up, went on a walk to the Tim Horton's, sat down and told myself I would call him at 3:14pm.  Why 3:14pm? I don't know.  Best decision I ever made though.
That sounds more like a risk thing, but just know that I was over thinking the entire time.

2. How some women can't get to the point.  Like my mother.  I tend to be more blunt than most girls, which is probably why they don't like me... But if I am telling a story I get to the point, I don't drag it on and on.  When my Mom is telling me a story I'm like okay okay yeah I don't care, I don't know who these people are just tell me what you're getting at!

3. Complaining about our bodies.  I don't do this.  I complain about my weight but that's just because it's jumping all over the place right now and makes me worried about my thyroid meds.
But when women start to complain about their bodies around me, I have no idea what to say.  I just sit there awkwardly until it's over.

4. Too much make up.  I don't know anyone who wears too much, but I've seen girls come into the store who have foundation caked on, or are using bronzer in replacement of a self tanner.  It doesn't look nice.
And I'm not a fan of Taylor Momsen's raccoon eyes I've been seeing lately.

5.  Hmm. I'd say gossiping and going behind people's backs but I've learned that guys do it too.  Okay I got it...maybe.  You know how people will ask you if you're fine but you're really not and you say you are?
Why do we do that?
We do it even with people we're comfortable around and trust.
Like The Boy, we're honest with each other, tell one another if something is going on...but last month something was bothering me and he asked what was wrong, I said "I'm fine."
"You know what that means don't you?"
"What?"
"F-ed up, Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional."

Don't worry, I learned to share my feelings more.  Not completely, but enough to tell him how I was feeling.
I also learned that if I'm not fine, I shouldn't say "I'm fine" instead I should say "Everything is great!" with a big cheery smile.

Just kidding :)

Day 2- A Famous Person You've Been Compared To

30 Day Challenge Day 2- A Famous Person You've Been Compared To

A few people in high school said Mandy Moore

A friend used to say Shenae Grimes:
Now I get told the 'Relic Hunter' chick, Tia Carrere

Day 1- The Person You Like

I've decided to do a 30 Day Challenge,
because a) life is boring at the moment b) all I do is whine and c) well there is no "C" I just figured I needed a third reason.
Bup-diddy-ba!
That was my ta-da! noise.
Today is number one, obviously.
The person you like and why you like them.
I like him because he is my boyfriend and I have to.  :)
Why do I like him?  I always say I don't know but these past few days I've been thinking about it....time to compile a list!
-he likes licorice (which was one of the first things I learned about him and realized we had in common)
-he reads (another thing I noticed when I first met him)
-we can be dorks together, him more than me :)
-he knows I like things straight up and honest.  I complained to him how it seems like the guys at work sugar coat stuff with me and he knows that I don't like that.  I'm tough, I can handle the truth.  Haha.
-we are comfortable with silence
-he plays video games (too much, but I look past it) and helps out a damsel in distress when she needs it
-when we first went out ever (as friends) my Mom picked us up and I asked if he wanted the front seat.  He said sure, hopped up there and had a conversation with my Mom.  I smiled the entire way.
-he tells me to tell him my feelings and that it won't freak him out, even if freaks me out
-he's funny
-he has his quirks
-we have similar taste in music but not exact
-he is blonde and has blue eyes, need I say more?
