The Boy, Baking and The Big "V"

Four days.
I've been waiting for oh so very long, or so it feels.
The Boy is visiting.
I've made him a birthday card, but now the tough part is what to write in it.
I keep thinking and thinking.
I think while passing the time at work, should I write him a haiku? maybe a list of why I think he's super cool? Maybe I'll make a joke and put 7 x's below my name (Scott Pilgrim reference; we love quoting that movie)
But I think the best thing to do is to wait until Thursday/Friday and write what I feel.

This past weekend my mom and I went baking crazy, for us anyways.
I made a giant cupcake and babies, she made raisin cookies and one of us made Sweet Marie Bars (main ingredients: rice crispies, peanut butter and chocolate. I'm just not sure which one of us because I've overdosed on baked goods.

I was going to do some schmancy fancy photo editing to these photos but then I decided.......nah! I'm having a lazy day :)

January has been a rough month for me, I'm kind of glad for it to be over.
Talking to The Boy, baking, exercising and naps helped.

I've decided I want to tackle making macaroons.
I've never had one before, but I've heard good things.
So that will be my next baking project, besides the smore's cookies, rice crispy squares, another giant cupcake and a carrot cake that I plan to make.  Eventually.

Enjoy your week!
Mine should move a bit quicker now that Sunday is gone; I had one of those awful afternoon shifts that just seem to drag on and on.

I know it's still 3 weeks away, but what's going down for the big V-Day?...Valentine's Day...
I still don't know if I "believe" in the whole Valentine's thing.
Yeah sure, maybe I'll make The Boy a card (I make cards, it's what I do).  Will I get to spend time with him? Not too sure on that yet, depends on the ol' work schedule.
But other than that, I think my plans consist of being the chauffeur for my baby brother and his gal that night.

Once again: Have a great week!

Ooh I've been meaning to bake macaroons too!
If you do them, please tell us how they go!
I only just recently had my first ever macaron, and it was a vanilla one... SO YUMMM!!!!!!!!
I think the recipes quite complex.. hopefully I'll pluck up the courage to bake them one of these days D:

love the pictures...that giant cupcake looks divine.

I don't really believe in the whole valentine's day thing either my guy and I won't be celebrating.
Have a great week!
