I'm Making Myself...

Confession: I am a little bit of a health and fitness nut. For a year now! (Just realized my health and fitness anniversary [when I decided this was going to be my lifestyle for sure] was on the 15th)
I don't eat 100% healthy all of the time, I like to indulge.
I exercise 4-5 times a week, but not when I am sick or exhausted.

I recently bought an exercise bike for when it's snowy or icy outside.
Tonight I will put it to use!

I like to lift weights as well, it makes me feel strong :)
I have an obsession with strength.

They say abs start in the kitchen. Don't treat your stomach like a trash can.
I try to eat as clean as possible (except for this past week when I indulged in a couple donuts and chocolate almonds)
Breakfast for me is always the same Monday-Friday.
1/2 grapefruit, 1egg +whites, squirrelly bread with peanut butter.
I have a second breakfast (I just like to call it that) at work, fruit and a granola bar/cottage cheese/almonds.
Lumch, I have issues with lunch.  I just don't like it.  I never know what to have, but there is always fruit in there.
I grew those beans myself :)

Dinner, is small.  Usually protein and a vegetable.
Sometimes I have a protein shake instead of lunch or dinner, which is super filling.
My protein shake recipe: 1 scoop of vanilla whey isolate powder, 1 cup of almond milk, 1/2 banana, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.  Delicious!  About 300-350 calories and something like 40g protein so it for sure keeps me going.
Protein is my best friend.  I aim for 60g a day but usually go well over.

I have a weakness for dill Doritos, cookies and donuts.
I never deny myself, I make sure I indulge in what I'm craving and then I'm usually fine.

I found I can't have too much dairy so I use almond milk for my cereal and don't eat ice cream.
For some reason frozen yogurt agrees with my stomach, and for that I am thankful.

I don't eat below 1200 calories unless I am seriously ill.
I aim for 1500-1800 calories and eat 5-6 times a day.

I don't follow any special rules, I just eat as clean as I can (70% of the time, or so I think) and exercise because I like to.
I don't follow a training plan (although there are some good ones on bodybuilding.com)

After being sick for a week and a half I'm getting back into it again.  Hopefully I can start my running again soon as well (stupid icy roads).  I finally hit 4km and then I got sick.  I'm ready for spring and summer so I can run in the sun!

If you're on a health and fitness journey, good luck to you! You can accomplish your goals :)
